What we have here is an extremely rare 1970 Dodge Challenger with a very unique and cool history. It is one of only 126 4-Speed convertible Challengers with the 383 Magnum. On top of that, it is an original purple car with white top and white interior. One of the most beautiful color combinations available. We have the original build sheet that shows all of these amazing options. The motor is the correct date code with no numbers stamped on the block. The car had a light cosmetic restoration in the 1990’s and recently has been cleaned up and had a few interior pieces replaced. It drives great and looks absolutely amazing.
The history is also very fascinating and we have the complete owner history from new. The car was an original export car that went to a Canada dealership for their show room, it was then sold to the states in 1971. The car was owned by Jerry Blake who was the head of the Mopar Parts and Performance division of Chrysler in the 1970’s and 80’s. The cap off its history, this was THE car that Chrysler used to model and design the modern Challengers. The car spent 8 months at their design facility in Oceanside California where they modeled the new body off of it. See the picture of it below in the studio.
